How to Apply for Medical Assistance

There are different ways to apply for Medical Assistance:

• To apply for SSI, check the Social Security Administration website or call 1-800-772-1213.  If your child has SSI coverage, Medical Assistance eligibility will be automatic. You should get your child's Medical Assistance identification card in the mail.
  
  
• To apply for Katie Beckett, see the eligibilty information at Katie Beckett.
  
  
• If your child is adopted through DCYF, he or she doesn't have to apply for Medical Assistance; your child will receive a Medical Assistance identification card in the mail.
