Medical Assistance Out-of-Plan Benefits

for Children with Special Health Care Needs

Children enrolled in a health plan or in Medical Assistance Fee-for-Service can both access out-of-plan benefits.  The benefits are paid for by the RI Medical Assistance Program and include Dental Care, transportation services and CEDARR Family Center Services.

If medically necessary, children may be eligible for additional services through the Early, Periodic, Screening, Diagnosis, and Treatment (EPSDT), a part of the Medical Assistance Program. See EPSDT Services.
