Program Updates

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

There are several new changes to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (formerly known as Food Stamps).  The changes include:

  • a telephone interview instead of a face-to-face interview
  • a change in eligibility criteria from 130 to 185 percent of the FPL
  • the certification period will now be 12 months (previously it was 6 months)

For more information, see Summary of Change.  You may be eligible if your income is under 185 percent of the FPL. See more on the Federal Poverty Levels (FPL). For information on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, see SNAP.
