Dental Services are covered
benefits for children and adults who are eligible for Rhode Island’s
Medical Assistance Program. There are two ways that eligible children
can get dental services. One way is through RIte Smiles and the other
way is through Medical Assistance Fee-For-Service.
RIte Smiles
RIte Smiles is a new dental program for young
children who have Medical Assistance coverage. Children are eligible if
they have Medical Assistance coverage (RIte Care,
RIte Share, or Medical Assistance) and were born on or after May 1,
2000.
Medical Assistance Fee-For-Service
Dental Services are a covered benefit for children
(born before May 1, 2000) and for children who have Medical Assistance
coverage but may not be eligible for RIte Smiles. For more information,
