Program Description

RIte Smiles is Rhode Island’s new dental program for young children who have
Medical Assistance coverage (RIte Care, RIte Share, or Medical Assistance fee-
for-service). Eligible children enroll in a dental plan that offers a network of dentists, information on how to find a dentist, and help with transportation or interpreter services,
if needed.

The Dental Plan is : UnitedHealthcare Dental - RIte Smiles

 

Who is Eligible

  • Children who have Medical Assistance Coverage (RIte Care, RIte Share,
    or Medical Assistance fee-for-service) and who were born on or after
    May 1, 2000.
  • Children must be RI residents and can’t have other dental insurance or live in
    a nursing facility.

How to Apply

Families can apply for Medical Assistance and if found eligible, their children, who were born on or after May 1, 2000, will be automatically enrolled in UnitedHealthcare Dental – RIte Smiles. For an application and information on how to apply for RI Medical Assistance, click here.

Children who are already enrolled in RIte Care, RIte Share or Medical
Assistance fee-for-service, will receive information in the mail about when their child will be enrolled in RIte Smiles.
