Home and Community Based Waiver Services
  

There are five (5) Home and Community Based Waiver Services programs:

Assisted Living Waiver

Provides a package of services by Licensed Assisted Living Facilities for Rhode Islanders who are disabled or over the age of 65. These services include:

    • 24-hour staffing
    • Personal care
    • Minor Assistive Devices
    • Meal Preparation
    • Housekeeping
    • Case Management

Aged and Disabled Waiver

Provides the following home and community based services:

  • Homemaker services
  • Home health aide services
  • Case management services
  • Adaptive equipment
  • Minor home modifications

PARI Waiver (People Actively Reaching Independence)

PARI is a private non-profit Independent Living Center that provides waiver services for severely disabled adults. Under this program, Medicaid recipients hire and supervise their own personal care attendants with training assistance from PARI Independent Living Center.

Provides the following services:

    • Case management services
    • Personal care services
    • Minor assistive devices
    • Minor modifications to the home
    • Training

Department of Elderly Affairs’ Medicaid Waiver

Provides the following services for Rhode Islanders over age 65:

    • Case management services
    • Homemaker services
    • Home health aide services
    • Minor assistive devices
    • Minor modifications to the home
    • Assisted Living

MHRH Waiver Services (Department of Mental Health, Retardation and Hospitals)

Provides home and community based services to individuals between 22 and 64 who are at risk for Intermediate Care Facility for the Mentally Retarded (ICF/MR) care.
