Message from the Associate Director

Our veterans hold a special place in the hearts and minds of Rhode Islanders because of their military service. Through the years, veterans remind us of the importance of defending freedom and striving for democracy. While a new generation fights terrorism and defends the peace, the State of Rhode Island is committed to honor all veteran's, past and present, with programs and services delivered by the Division of Veterans Affairs. The Division of Veterans Affairs consists of the Veterans Home located in Bristol, The Veterans Memorial Cemetery located in Exeter, and the Office of Veterans Affairs located in Cranston.

The Veterans Affairs program serves eligible Rhode Island veterans, their spouses, and dependents. Benefits include a comprehensive program of social, medical and rehabilitative services. The veterans home provides skilled and semi-skilled nursing care. The Veterans Memorial Cemetery is a dignified and honorable final resting place for our veterans and their families.

The Department of Human Services, Division of Veterans Affairs is honored to be responsible for all programs that effect and assist Rhode Island veterans and their families.

Respectfully,

Daniel J. Evangelista
Associate Director, DHS
Division of Veterans Affairs
